Daughter

In the wake of the kidnapping of 200+ girls in Nigeria, we take a moment to reflect on what it means to be a daughter and to have a daughter. Ziauddin Yousafzai talks us through why and how his daughter Malala survived inconceivable violence (when she was shot by the Taliban for attending school at age 12) and triumphed. He attributes Malala’s courageousness, free spirit and activism not to what he did but what he did not do, clip her wings. We pray that the girls in Nigeria are returned unharmed.
