What we do

Mbewu Movement was created to provide a platform for inter-generational dialogue and mentorship, in order to empower young African women.

The gap we identified was that there was limited dialogue on certain aspects of leadership, especially how young professionals, particularly women, could make a meaningful impact on South Africa and the rest of the African continent.

The following video is a brief introduction into who we are as individuals and they tell the story of who “Mbewu Movement” is and what we’re trying to achieve.

  2. Hi ladies, I just wanted to drop in and say how much your page has inspired me. I really wish you all the best and can’t wait to see where your movement goes. I was so inspired I wrote a piece, so please have a look at: http://20somethingyearoldgirl.wordpress.com/2014/06/23/inspired-mbewu-movement/. Again, thank you.

    1. Hi girlindiscovery- quite a catchy name you have there 🙂 Thank you so much for the positive feedback and the piece you wrote filled with hope and optimism! There is a quote that says- we become what we think. All the things you mentioned, the things you say you want to achieve are possible. Believe it, put in the work, keep the friends that keep inspiring you. Nguvu sounds like a brilliant initiative! Let us all do what we can, where we are, with what we have.

Wishing you all the best in all that you do! And our paths will cross in this journey!

      Best Wishes,
      MM
